I created this website to store everything I have done in the past, everything I am currently working on and everything I plan to do in the future.
If it proves to be useful to you all the better! To learn who I am and what I am about, click on the "About Me" link. I hope you enjoy the site!
Below are some of the activities I have engaged in since I retired. I am constantly learning. Some of my new skills are built on skills I already had and some are brand new. I thought retirement would be boring. I was wrong!
I was hired by a company called Bansho that was releasing an app for kids with bite sized educational videos. After making about 30 videos, I was hooked...on video creation and learning how to use different apps to make really cool videos, I continue to make videos for education, for advertising and for fun! Here is a link to some of my videos!
Video Creation I published my first book! It's a children's book and you
can buy it on Amazon. You can buy it as a paperback, a hardback or the kindle
version. If you have kindle unlimited, you can download it for free.
This book is interactivce. There is a QR code for each animal that takes you to YouTube to hear that animal read its page to you!
I published my second book on Amazon just in time for Christmas 2022! You can buy it as a paperback, a hardback or the kindle version. If you have kindle unlimited, you can download it for free.
If you would like to purchase signed copies of either of my books, please click on the link below.
My daughter bought me a Cricut for Christmas in 2021. I was a little afraid to use it at first, but once I got started, there was no stopping me! What I enjoy the most is making gifts for friends and family!
Check out some of my favorite Cricut
Projects!

I write for a magazine called American Essence. "American Essence focuses on traditional American values and great American stories. It recounts significant historical events, from the time of the Founding Fathers through today, including average Americans who want to give back to their communities and country".

When COVID started, I joined a group of ladies making masks for front line workers. I made shield headbands, ear savers and whatever else I could make on my 3D printer. It felt good to be useful. If you click on the link below, you can see other things (not all so noble) that I make on my 3D printer.
3D PrintingWhen I first retired, I worked for VIP Kid, an international company that teaches children English online all over the world. The pay is not great, and it is definitely a job for night owls. However, I learned so much in the time I taught there. I was amazed! The kids are really sweet, and the time you are teaching goes by so fast, because you are having fun teaching. If you ever want to try it, please use my link. We both get benefits.
VIP KIDOccasionally I teach on an online platform called Outschool. It is a unique place that offers very out of the ordinary classes. I make my own hours; I make my own classes; I run my classes for a while and I can take a break and not teach at all for a while. If you are a teacher and this sounds like something you would be interested in click the teacher link below. If you have a child that you would like to take a class, use the code viR0xdAM for a $20 discount!
outschoolI work for this company tutoring students of all ages online. The company is wonderful, I make my own hours, choose my students and I am well compensated. Teachers who live in Pennsylvania looking for part time work can contact me or click on the link below. Also, if you have a child you would like tutored, you can contact them through the same link.
team tutorJust so you don't think I spend all my time working, I spend plenty of time enjoying the animals, the nature and the beauty of Abernethy Acres.
ABERNETHY ACRES My husband, Sam and I, have been traveling in our RV across the country since our retirement. We generally take about two 30 day trips a year, plus some little trips here and there. Click on the link below to see pictures and details from some of our trips.
Please be patient with me. This is the last section I ever get around to updating. If you don't see anything, come back in a few months or years.
My first school year at Greenville East Elementary was 1997. I was a Title One math teacher for one year. My second year, I became a 5th grade teacher and I never moved from that position until I retired in 2019. I loved every minute of my time teaching my 5th graders and they will all be a part of my heart until the day I die. I have always tried to document our time together, for this purpose. Now these students may look back at their time in 5th grade, maybe show their kids, and who knows...maybe even show their grandchildren someday.
If you were in my 5th grade class, you must click here to find your class website and reminisce about your 5th grade year.
If you participated in clubs like Challenge 24, Stock Market Club, Maker's Club, or video creation clubs, check this out.
Science fair projects, Abernethy Acres trips, schoolyard habitat, Creek Connections, and other miscellaneous projects can be found here, too.
Each class had at least a couple of blogs. We used them to showcase our projects, for reading responses, and some classes even posted a picture a day. If you were in my 5th grade class and you want to reminisce, this is a great place to look!
Class BlogsMy 5th grade classes have had a YouTube channel to store their videos since 2010. Be sure to check out our video channel!
